The NE Seattle Tool Library provides free, community access to a wide variety of tools and sustainable resources. It is part of the nonprofit Sustainable NE Seattle.

We have been lending tools since our Grand Opening on January 19, 2013.

How To Join

Anyone over 18 is may join the NE Seattle Tool Library, whether you live in NE Seattle or anywhere else in the region. Members must fill in a membership application, a liability waiver and present a government-issued photo ID to Tool Library staff. Memberships are good for 12 months and may be renewed anytime.

Sign-Up for a Membership It’s easy to sign-up.

1. Create an account at home.

2. Come into the Library. Here we will complete your application and verify your identity with a government-issued photo ID. A volunteer, or one of the Coordinators at the front desk can help you.

3. Make a donation if you are able. Donations are crucial to keeping this community project running. They pay for our coordinators' salaries, our rent and our tools' upkeep.

The suggested donation levels are

  • Lifetime: $500
  • Yearly:
    • Sustaining: $200
    • General Public: $50
    • Student/Senior: $35

We accept cash, check, credit card, debit card, Venmo and PayPal. You may also make donations via PayPal here.

We will not deny applications because you lack funds. We do not require proof of income.
